The Jejuri Police have seized 1,225 liters of country-made liquor and 10,000 liters of raw chemicals, totalling to Rs 5,24,000 from Dholewadi. As per further information from Pune Rural Police, On 04.03.2024 at 00:15 am, Assistant Police Inspector of Jejuri Police Station, Deepak Vakchoure, while present at the police station, received reliable information through a secret informant that a person called Santosh Rathod is brewing alcohol in the limits of Dholewadi village.

According to the information, the police staff raided the place. The police found 2 iron pans at the said place, containing 10,000 liters of raw chemicals required for making Gavathi [desi] country liquor, 35 blue plastic cans of 35 liters capacity, which had 1,225 liters of prepared Gavathi country liquor, about 120 bags of black jaggery weighing 1 kg each, 1 spoon with a tube, 1 plate of materials and prepared liquor, totalling to an amount of Rs 5,24,000 were seized.

Raw chemicals and burnt chemicals, wood firewood materials have been destroyed on the spot. Santosh Rathod, the maker of country-made liquor, fled as soon as the police came to the spot. In this regard, a case has been registered under IPC Section 328 & Section 65 (F) of the Bombay Prohibition Act 1949 at Jejuri Police Station. Further investigation of the said crime is being conducted by Police Sub Inspector Mahesh Patil, Jejuri Police Station.

The said action was under the guidance of Pankanj Deshmukh, Superintendent of Police, Pune Rural, Sanjay Jadhav, Additional Superintendent of Police, Baramati, Shrikant Padule, Sub Divisional Police Officer, Bhor Division, Saswad & done by the team of Assistant Police Inspectors Deepak Vakchoure, Sub Inspector of Police Mahesh Patil, Police constables Annasaheb Deshmukh, Pravin Shede, Khandagale etc.
