Pune: Jewelry And Cash Worth ₹1.45 Lakh Stolen From Garment Store Located On NIBM Road
Kondhwa, August 6, 2024: Kavita Shah, a resident of Gemini Park Avenue, in Mohamadwadi reported a theft at her garment store on NIBM Road, which she has been operating for the past 12 years. Shah had borrowed money from two friends, totaling ₹1,00,000, to repay a loan. She had safely deposited her money in the store’s locker to repay the loan to her friend. On August 5, Shah opened her store at 11 AM and closed it at 8:30 PM. However, she was alerted by an acquaintance at 4:40 AM on August 6 that her shop was found open. Shah visited the store along with her daughter and son and the police were called in from Kondhwa police station.
Upon inspection, it was found that the store’s locker was open, and various items were scattered around. Shah reported missing valuables including ₹1,00,000 in cash, 40 silver coins each weighing 10 grams, a Krishna idol weighing 100 grams, a Laxmi idol weighing 100 grams, two silver bangles with gold polish totaling 100 grams, and an anklet and bracelet totaling 200 grams. The total estimated value of the stolen items is ₹1,45,000.
The police are currently investigating the incident and a complaint against an unidentified person has been filed at the Kondhwa police station. In the last few weeks, two similar shop burglary cases have been reported in NIBM road annexe areas.
