Residents of Kalyani Nagar, Vadgaon Sheri, Koregaon Park, Mundhwa have been fighting against severe noise pollution caused by pubs, bars, and open air venues for a long time. Though the residents have got little success, they are still hoping that they will get justice soon.

The peaceful vicinity is gearing up to rock, as Bollywood musicians are coming to Pune and shall be performing in the last week of April. The residents of the area are now seeking help again from the Pune Police and Maharashtra Pollution Control Board as the venue where the event is being held is open to air and there are no measures taken at such venues in the city to control the loud noise.

Speaking to Pune Pulse, a resident of the area, a resident stated that the venue shown is an open air amphitheater. There are no walls, no sound proofing. In an open air venue, high decibel music is played at Royal Palms, which may become a huge disturbance to over 1000 residents.

“The constant loud music and noise from Royal Palms has significantly disrupted our peace and privacy in Kalyani Nagar and Wadgaon Sheri. It is an open air venue and doesn’t have any sound proofing.Despite several complaints, the violations continue, showing blatant disregard for residential areas. This is not just about one event or evening, but continuous disturbances that affect our quality of life. Strict action must be taken against organizers who do not comply with regulations, and repeat offenders should have their permits revoked. It’s crucial to prioritize the well-being of local communities over commercial interests,” informed a resident from Team Swachh Kalyani Nagar.

Despite repeated attempts to reach to the MPCb Officials and Pune Police they remained unavailable for any comments.
