Pune: Kondhwa Police Arrest Woman Over 'Pakistan Zindabad' Post On Instagram
Pune, May 9, 2025 – A post shared by a young woman from Pune, expressing support for Pakistan and including slogans of “Pakistan Zindabad”, has sparked significant controversy in the city. The post, which was shared from the young woman’s Instagram account, quickly went viral, leading to widespread outrage. The woman is a second year engineering student of a Pune college. The college authorities have rusticated her from the college for her social media post.
The Sakal Hindu Samaj brought the matter to public attention by sharing the post on X (formerly Twitter), demanding immediate action against the individual. According to the group, the post contained messages supporting Pakistan, which was condemned by many social media users. The young woman is said to have deleted her Instagram account after the post went viral, but the damage was already done.
Following the incident, Kondhwa Police Station initiated a case against the woman. The police have taken the matter seriously, and an investigation has been launched. The police are currently working to identify and question the woman involved. A case has been registered under Sections Under sections 152, 196, 197, 299, 352, 353 of BNS. She has also been arrested by Kondhwa police.
Dr Rajkumar Shinde, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Zone 5 confirmed the arrest under sections 152, 196, 197, 299, 352, 353 of BNS. Further probe is ongoing in the case.
The Sakal Hindu Samaj has also expressed its dissatisfaction, urging the authorities to take swift measures. In light of the situation, police have appealed to the public to maintain peace and not escalate tensions further.
