Pune : Kondhwa police arrests four mobile snatchers, recover 12 mobile phones

Kondhwa: Three people have been arrested by Kondhwa police for being involved in forcibly taking away mobile phones from pedestrians. The incident occurred in the Handewadi area, and a case of forced theft was registered at Kondhwa Police Station. During a search of the accused house, the police found and seized 12 stolen mobile phones worth â‚ą1,23,000.

The police were on the lookout for the unknown accused when they received a tip-off that three suspects had been involved in a similar incident in the past. Acting on the information, a police team comprising of assistant police inspector Anil Survase and his staff patrolled the Undri, Mohammadwadi area where they detained three suspects – Umar Salim Shaikh, aged 19 years, Qadir Iqbal Shaikh, aged 19 years, and another who is a minor. 

Upon questioning, the suspects gave random answers, which raised suspicion among the police officers. Upon further interrogation, the suspects confessed to having committed the crime of grabbing mobile phones. The police arrested them and remanded them in police custody.
