The Kondhwa Police have booked 2 accused, identified as Wasim Iqbal Khan & Yunus Trasgar, for attacking a couple, identified as Adv Noor Yaqoob & her husband Mohammad Yaqoob Shaikh, near Adhar Dairy, Pisoli.

As per further information from the FIR accessed by Pune Pulse, the complainant, Mohammad Yaqoob Khan, & his wife, Adv Noor Yaqoob, were going to Kondhwa Police Station on their two-wheeler. At that time, accused Wasim Khan & Yunus Trasgar were at Adhar Dairy in Pisoli.

The couple were passing through the area. When the accused saw them, they stopped the couple, started abusing Adv Noor Yaqoob & tried to remove her Burkha. When Mohammad Yaqoob Khan intervened, co-accused Yunus Trasgar held him & Wasim Khan started beating him with a gas cylinder pipe, which was in his hand. When Adv Noo Yaqoob tried to stop him, Wasim beat her as well. When Adv Noor Yaqoob tried to get help, a Pan Shop owner came to help them. Seeing several people gathering around, the accused fled the area.

The victims have sought intervention from the Police Complaint Authority and Human Rights organizations, accusing the police of negligence and failure to follow due legal process.”
