In a commendable social initiative, the residents of Kunal Aspiree F Wing, Balewadi, celebrated Independence Day by offering a unique gift to their domestic staff—financial awareness. The event, held on the evening of August 15th, saw nearly 50 domestic workers participating in an educational session designed to enhance their financial literacy.
The program kicked off with a skit performed by volunteers, illustrating the pitfalls of investing in risky schemes like chit funds. This was followed by a session led by a representative from the Hakdarshak app, who introduced the workers to various government schemes such as Ayushman Bharat, Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana, Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana, and the Ladki Behen scheme. The session aimed to equip the attendees with the knowledge necessary to make informed financial decisions.
The workshop also emphasized the importance of saving, with a special focus on Recurring Deposits (RD) as a reliable savings method. Additionally, the Lighthouse Scheme was presented, offering career guidance for the younger members of the workers’ families.
The event concluded with a tea and snack session, during which the participants expressed their gratitude and requested the establishment of a helpdesk to assist with paperwork related to the discussed schemes. The residents responded positively, planning to set up the helpdesk during the upcoming Ganpati festival.
This initiative not only demonstrated the residents’ dedication to the well-being of their domestic staff but also contributed significantly to the larger goal of financial empowerment.
