Pune Leopard Attack: 13-Year-Old Boy Mauled to Death in Shirur, Forest Officials Launch Hunt
Pune, November 3, 2025: A 13-year-old boy, identified as Rohan Vilas Bombe, tragically lost his life in a leopard attack on Sunday afternoon around 3:45 pm at Pimparkhed (Ambe Wadi) village in Shirur taluka, Pune district.
Following the incident, the Principal Chief Conservator of Forests granted immediate permission to neutralize the leopard responsible for the attack.
A special team of sharp shooters has been summoned to the site and is expected to begin operations early Monday morning.
Currently, the forest department has set up 25 cages and installed 10 trap cameras for surveillance. Drone patrolling and awareness campaigns are also being conducted in the surrounding villages to ensure public safety.
The operation is being carried out under the guidance of Forest Conservator Ashish Thackeray and Deputy Conservator of Forests (Junnar) Prashant Khade, with assistance from Assistant Conservators Smita Rajhans and Amrit Shinde, Range Forest Officer Nilkanth Gawhane, and local forest staff.
