While school refutes charges, complaint is received against the school at Lonikand police station

Parents of students studying in Lexicon school in Wagholi have alleged that their wards were retained in school after school hours over unpaid fees. So, the parents along with the support of MNS office bearers have lodged a complaint with charges of extortion and kidnapping against the authorities.
As per the parents, on 18th January afternoon, select students were locked up by the teachers in the classrooms after 1 pm.

The complaint states that the school is allegedly punishing students whose parents have not paid their fees by keeping them in school after regular hours.

As per the parents, on 18th January, school hours were completed at 1pm but teachers locked children in the classroom for not paying fees. When parents entered the school to pick their children, the principal refused to hand over the children and did not even allow parents to meet their children.

On the other hand, school has issued a statement regarding the allegations. As per the statement, the school said that the parents had misunderstood the situation and that they would meet each parent individually and clear their confusion. The case is currently under investigation by Lonikand police station.

Gajanan Pawar, Lonikand police station Inspector said, “We have received a complaint against Lexicon school yesterday, and we are processing the case. Legal action will be taken against school and the teachers.”

“This is not the proper way to treat children. We are not going to tolerate this. The parents have filed a case against Lexicon school in Lonikand police station. I will continue to follow up on this matter until a legal action is taken against school,” said Prakash Jamdhade, MNS Wagholi.
