Pune: Licenses of 68 pubs & bars sealed by State Excise Dept, 77 issued notices 

The state excise department has sealed the licenses of as many as 68 pubs and bars in and around the city for violation of norms till further orders meanwhile notices have been issued to 77 pubs and bars.

Pune- The state excise department has sealed the licenses of 68 pubs and bars in and around the city till further orders in case of violation of norms. Notices have also been issued to 77 pubs and bars. Webcasting measures are being taken to monitor if alcohol is served without checking proof of age or if such establishments violate any time-related norms.

Here are the actions that have been taken in a month:

1.      Mandatory installation of two CCTV cameras at bar counters

2.      The excise department and the police can monitor the CCTV footage

3.      The administration will also keep an eye on the cameras

4.      If any pub or bar violates the time limit, the police and the excise department will receive a notification on their mobile

5.      The inspection will continue to be carried out by the vigilance team

6. Proof of age will be checked before entering pubs, bars
