Pune LS Polls: ₹3.8 Lakh Seized in Kasba Peth Assembly Constituency

Kasba Peth, April 22, 2024: Assistant Election Returning Officer Sneha Devkate disclosed the seizure of a significant sum of Rs 3.8 lakh. The seizure occurred around noon in front of the Shaniwar Wada Gate, within the jurisdiction of the Faraskhana Police Station, Pune city police. The cash was confiscated from an individual who failed to provide a satisfactory explanation for its possession. Due to the lack of clarity surrounding the origin of the funds, the amount has been deposited into the District Treasury Office for further investigation and appropriate action.

The political atmosphere has intensified with the onset of the Lok Sabha elections. Key contenders in the Pune Lok Sabha constituency include Muralidhar Mohol from the Bharatiya Janata Party, Ravindra Dhangekar from the Congress, Vasant More from the Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi, and Anis Sundke from the MIM.
