Pune: Maha-Metro Launches Livelihood Restoration Plan For Displaced Families
In a bid to support families displaced by the Civic Court Metro Station construction, the Maharashtra Metro Rail Corporation Limited (Maha-Metro) has initiated a livelihood restoration plan (LRP) for 234 affected households. The plan aims to provide a range of facilities and services to help these families settle into their new surroundings in Vimannagar and Hadapsar. Maha-Metro has floated a tender to hire a consultant for implementing the LRP, which includes forming self-help groups, anganwadis, and cooperative housing societies.
These initiatives will provide access to public transport, school admissions, scholarships, income-generating government schemes, health cards, and employment opportunities. The Civic Court Metro Station, set to become a multimodal transport hub, will feature a new road, bus terminus, skywalks, parking space, and other facilities. As an interchange for three metro lines, it will greatly benefit the community.
Maha-Metro’s efforts to support displaced families demonstrate its commitment to responsible urban development and community welfare. By providing a comprehensive LRP, the corporation aims to ensure a smooth transition for those affected and promote sustainable livelihoods.”
