A rotating theatre on time machine concept to give immersive experience of Chhatrapati’s qualities

Pune, February 13, 2025: The second phase of Shivsrusti being built at Ambegaon Budruk by Maharaja Shivchhatrapati Pratishthan is now complete and shall be inaugurated by Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on the upcoming Shiv Jayanti (February 19). Deputy Chief Ministers Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar will be present on this occasion, informed Jagdish Kadam, Chief Trustee of Maharaja Shivchhatrapati Pratishthan, while talking to the reporters at Shivsrushti today. Vineet Kuber,  Trustee of the Pratishthan, Advisor Sandeep Jadhav and the Administrator of Shivsruthi Anil Pawar were present on this occasion.

While sharing the information about the second phase of the Shivsrushti project, which is being developed on the original concept of Padma Vibhushan Shivshahir Babasaheb Purandare, Jagdish Kadam said, “This phase mainly includes a grand reception hall, a time machine theater befitting a modern theme park and a grand temple of Goddess Tulja Bhavani. This phase is designed and developed as per Babasaheb Purandare’s wish to create awareness about the humanitarian qualities of Chhtarapati Shivaji Maharaj and the 3 core principles that were close to his heart including Swadesh, Swadharma and Swabhasha. An investment of Rs.87 Cr has been made in creating this phase.”

According to Jagdish Kadam, One of the main attractions of this phase 2 is a special time machine theater, which will indeed be a treat for the visitors of Shivsrushti. Here, we go back about 1000 years and from there we come to the era of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. With the use of modern technology and features like mapping, holography, physical effects and most importantly a rotating theatre which revolves in 360 degrees to provide an immersive experience of the stories of Shivaji Maharaj that depict his qualities of being an extremely good human being. This specially designed 33 minutes show can be watched by 110 persons at a time.

A 3D model of the entire project of Shivsrushti which will be developed in 4 phases has been placed at the grand reception hall of this phase 2. By pressing the button in front of the name plate a visitor can locate the phase of Shivsrushti in the model and can get some information about it.

The grand reception hall consists of 6 huge portraits of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. The specialty of these portraits is that they are prints of high resolution images of Paintings of Shivaji Maharaj from various renowned museums in the world. These museums  include British Museum London, Hague National Archives and the National Library of Netherlands, The Rijksmuseum Amsterdam, Bibliotheque Nationale de France and Chhtrapati Shivaji Maharah Vastu Sangrahalay in Mumbai. It may be noted that most of these paintings are from the times of Chhtrapati Shivaji Maharaj so it can give some idea about the way he used to look.

This Maratha Warrior King was known for leading from the front and successfully led his army to win many battles. The grand reception hall gives information about some of the lesser known successful battles that he fought. This information is provided in Marathi, Hindi and English.

A grand temple of Goddess Tulja Bhavani is also being built and shall be open for the visitors of Shivsrushti after the inauguration. This temple is the replica of the Tulja Bhavani Temple on Pratapgad even the stone used in the construction work is the same. The idol of Goddess Tulja Bhavani has been created under the guidance of Dr. G. B. Deglurkar, Former Dean of Deccan College. The idol installation ceremony will take place on February 17th, informed Jagdish Kadam.
