Pune Man Asks for Legal Aid After Mahindra Sues Him Over Critical Bike Reviews: 'They Demand Rs 5 Lakh'
A Pune-based man who used to post bike reviews online is facing a legal battle with Classic Legends after the company filed a defamation case against him. The company is demanding Rs 5 lakh along with 18% interest, and is also demanding the removal of all critical reviews and the covering of their litigation expenses.
The 25-year-old, who goes by the username “Hungry_hunk” on Reddit, has turned to the platform for support, seeking a lawyer to take his case on a pro bono basis. He posted in the “Pune” community, detailing his experience and stating that the case was filed simply for posting “genuine reviews” about his ownership experience of a Jawa/Yezdi motorcycle.
Classic Legends sued the Pune man because he posted critical reviews about their Jawa/Yezdi motorcycles online. He claimed that he was highlighting repeated mechanical failures, providing evidence with videos and posts. He also stated that numerous parts were replaced under warranty, indicating a faulty product.
The Pune man explained that Classic Legends claimed their records don’t reflect these repairs, but he argued that the company doesn’t provide bills or receipts for warranty work, making it easy to manipulate records. He also insisted that he has proof of some parts being replaced and why his requests for further repairs were denied.

According to the Redditor, Classic Legends is demanding Rs 5 lakh plus 18 per cent interest. They are also insisting that he remove all negative reviews about their bikes and cover their litigation costs. The Redditor summarized their demands as follows: “Pay Rs 5,00,000 + 18% interest; take down all critical posts/videos, cover their litigation costs.”
“As a 25-year-old with parents to support, I’ve already spent over Rs 50,000 on legal fees fighting the consumer case against Classic Legends in the district court. It feels impossible to go up against a corporate giant with seemingly endless resources. I’m just trying to expose the truth and help others make informed choices,” the man shared.
He continued, “Is there anyone who could help fight this case pro bono (free of charge) and take the litigation fees if we win?”
He concluded his social media post with a poignant message: “Today it’s me, tomorrow it could be you.”
The man later revealed in the comments section of the Reddit post that the company is not open to an out-of-court settlement.
Classic Legends on the issue stated, “At Classic Legends our commitment has always been to our customers, ensuring their best interests remain at the heart of everything we do. In this matter, we have acted with complete integrity and with the sole intent of supporting the customer. While we are unable to comment on specifics as the issue is sub-judice, we are confident in the strength of our position. We have taken all necessary legal steps as the aggrieved party and remain fully committed to our customers.”
