Pune: Man beaten to death in Kondhwa , 2 held
In a shocking incident, a man was beaten to death with cement blocks and sticks in broad daylight by his friends in Kondhwa. The incident occurred in front of Bhairavnath Temple on Monday. Police have arrested the accused.
The deceased is identified as Mallesh Kupendra Koli (age 32, resident of Gokul Nagar Pune). The accused are identified as Barish alias Barya Sanjay Khude (age 21, resident, Talim Chowk, Kondhwa), and Akash Shubash Mankar (age 23, resident, Gokul Nagar, Pune). As per the police, the incident happened around 3:30 pm on Monday. The deceased and both the accused knew each other. They were consuming alcohol at the Dashkriya Vidhi, the crematorium area in Kondhwa.
While drinking alcohol, an argument broke out between them over some trivial issues. In a fit of rage, the accused hit hard on the head of the deceased using cement blocks and wooden sticks which resulted in his death. The accused left the deceased in a pool of blood and left the crime scene.
As soon as the police came to know about the incident, they rushed to the spot. However, the accused had fled. The Kondhwa police started searching for the accused and soon were able to catch them. Police have arrested the accused and the case has been registered under sections 103(1), and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Police Sub Inspector Gavde of the Kondhwa police station is investigating the case further.
Deputy Commissioner of Police Rajkumar Shinde stated, “The murder was a result of a dispute while drinking between friends, the accused are on record criminals. We have arrested the accused and further probe is underway.”
