Airtel, Jio, and Vi have introduced new voice and SMS-only recharge plans following the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI)’s directive. These plans, launched recently, are more affordable than regular recharge plans with data benefits.  

Airtel and Jio have further revised these plans, which are currently under TRAI’s review. With the launch of these new plans, Airtel and Jio have discontinued some previous recharge options that included data benefits.  

Airtel’s New Plans

Rs 1,849 Plan: This annual plan offers 365 days of validity, unlimited calling, and 3,600 SMS. The effective daily cost is Rs 5.06.  

Rs 469 Plan: With 84 days of validity, this plan includes unlimited calling and 900 SMS. The effective daily cost is Rs 5.58.  

Jio’s New Plans

Rs 1,748 Plan: Jio offers this plan with 336 days of validity, unlimited calling, and 3,600 SMS. It also includes JioCinema access (base tier). The effective daily cost is Rs 5.20.  

Vi’s New Plan

Rs 1,460 Plan: This plan provides 270 days of validity, unlimited calling, and 100 SMS per day. Additional SMS costs Re 1 for local and Rs 1.5 for STD. The effective daily cost is Rs 5.41.  

These new plans aim to provide affordable options for customers who require only voice and SMS services. With TRAI’s directive, telecom companies are focusing on simplified and cost-effective recharge options.
