A 32-year-old man lost his life when a tree fell on him while he was walking in Pune’s Upper Ota area during the night between Saturday and Sunday. The Pune Fire Brigade reported handling 55 incidents of fallen trees by 3 am, following the onset of rain on Saturday afternoon.

The victim, identified as Yogesh Vandhare from Buldhana district in Maharashtra, was critically injured and rushed to Sassoon General Hospital, where he was declared dead, according to a fire officer.

The Fire Brigade responded to a total of 80 calls from residents, which included 55 incidents of tree falls, 22 cases of waterlogging or water entering buildings, and one wall collapse. Additionally, around midnight, firefighters rescued three individuals trapped in water in the Kalwad Vasti area of Lohegaon.
