Crucial development in Purandar Airport Project: Fadnavis asks to formulate a comprehensive land acquisition plan
A new airport is essential for the rapid development of Pune. So there should be a new airport at Purandar. If this airport is built, Pune will become an important growth engine of the country and it will replace Mumbai if the airport at Purandar is built, Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said on Monday (25th December).
He was speaking at a program organized by the Maharashtra State Marathi Journalists Association. On this occasion, Commissioner of Pune Metropolitan Area Development Authority (PMRDA) Rahul Mahiwal, Commissioner of Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation Shekhar Singh, Group Editor of Pudhari Dr Yogesh Jadhav, Editor of Lokmat Sanjay Awte, Editor of Sakal Samrat Phadnis, Babasaheb Auti of Bhagwati Group, Sanjay Bhokare, organizer of Maharashtra State Marathi Journalist Association, State president Kiran Joshi etc were present.
Fadnavis further said that Pune has the potential to be the growth engine of the country in the next 20 years. Pune is a city with the potential to accommodate new age industries. This is why development projects like Ring Road are being taken up on priority. A new airport is essential for the rapid development of Pune. So, if the citizens have doubts about this, they will be repealed. Those who have given land for the airport will experience prosperity.
Fadnavis further continued that a discussion will be held with Chief Minister Eknath Shinde about announcing a plan to give discount on interest on home loans so that journalists can get houses at cheap rates as their own houses cannot be found. Therefore, the project of journalists’ house has to be taken up as a campaign. The number and types of media have increased. Young men and women from ordinary households are working in this industry. Stability is important in their lives.
