Pune: Commuters who depend on the Pune metro services have encountered significant inconvenience as a result of repeated disruptions, with services being suspended on three occasions in the past two weeks alone.

These disruptions have been attributed to power and technical failures.

In a recent development, the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Corporation Limited (MSEDCL) has officially clarified that they cannot be held responsible for the power disruption that caused a temporary halt in Pune Metro services.

This statement comes after a 21-minute interruption in Metro train services due to a power-related issue. MSEDCL officials have emphasized that the responsibility for supplying power to the Pune Metro lies with the Maharashtra State Electricity Transmission Corporation Limited (MSETC). They firmly assert that MSEDCL has no involvement in the power supply chain for Pune Metro services. The blame placed on MSEDCL for the power disruption has been deemed unjustified.

In a series of recent incidents, commuters have been left stranded and inconvenienced as metro services have come to a standstill due to various issues, including power outages and technical failures. The most recent incident occurred on a Friday morning when a power supply cut led to a halt on the Vanaz to Ruby Hall Clinic route, leaving passengers in a state of uncertainty for 25 minutes.

As metro officials diligently work towards implementing solutions, Pune’s commuters remain hopeful for a more reliable service in the coming months, aiming to minimize the current uncertainty and inconvenience associated with the metro’s operation.
