Pune Metro Extends 30% Discount to Students Every Day, Weekend Discount Continues
Pune: The excitement for students in Pune continues to grow as Pune Metro introduces a new perk. In a strategic move to encourage metro ridership, students studying in schools up to the graduation level can now relish a generous 30% discount on fares, available every day of the week.
The process to avail the discount is hassle-free – students only need to present their valid ID cards issued by their educational institutions.
This latest initiative follows Pune Metro’s earlier stride towards affordability. Previously, a 30% discount was bestowed upon all travelers exclusively during weekends, which has now been seamlessly complemented by the extended student discount.
The strategic intent behind this move by Maha-Metro is clear – to entice a wider demographic to opt for the metro as their preferred mode of transportation. In a concerted effort to enhance the overall commuting experience, the Regional Transport Authority has also revealed plans to launch shared rickshaw services at all 18 metro stations. To further streamline the journey from station to doorstep, PMPML is diligently working on introducing feeder services that will connect each metro station to the surrounding localities.
