Pune Metro Line 3 Project receives prestigious Skoch Award 2023 in silver category
The Pune Metro Line-3 project has received a silver award in the ‘Urban Development’ category at the national level from SKOCH Institute. 320 applications were received for SKOCH Award 2023 under various categories. The award was based on a combined rating of subject matter experts and peer rankings. The Pune Metro Line-3 project managed to garner the attention and ratings of both the jury and the participants for the award.
The Maan Hinjawadi to Shivajinagar Pune Metro Line-3 project is being undertaken by the Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) through a Public Private Partnership (PPP) model.
Rahul Mahiwal, Metropolitan Commissioner, PMRDA, said “This project has been taken up in a very short period of time since the inception of PMRDA and the project is being implemented very fast and successfully. This project will speed up all activities within the Pune Metropolitan Region and boost the IT and other allied economies. The SKOCH award is a testament to that.”
Vivek Kharwadkar, Metropolitan Planner, PMRDA, said “The acknowledgment of PMRDA’s commitment to complete the Pune Metro Line-3 project and the award received sets a precedent for future public private partnership projects.”
Rinaj Pathan, Chief Engineer, PMRDA, said “Innovation in project structure, speed of project execution were the main factors that led to this award.”
