Pune Metro sees highest ever ridership : 1.5 lakh passengers use service on August 15

Pune: On the occasion of Independence Day, the Pune Metro set a new record of maximum number of rideship in a single day. 

Speaking to Pune Pulse, Dr Hemant Sonawane, Executive Director, Public Relations And Administration, Pune Metro said, “On August 15, an astounding 1 lakh 59 thousand Punekars rode in the 2 metro stations of Civil Court to Pimpri Chinchwad and from Vanaz to Ruby Hall Metro stations. 60% of the 1 lakh 59 thousand people i.e. 95,400 metro users travelled from Civil Court to Pimpri Chinchwad route while the rest 63,600 metro users travelled from Vanaz to Ruby Hall route. This was the highest ridership recorded since the launch of Pune Metro service last year.”

Sonawane has expressed extreme gratitude towards Punekars for giving Pune Metro such a humongous & positive response every day.

It is worth mentioning that the Pune Metro extended lines were inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his visit to Pune on August 1. During his visit, he inaugurated the Vanaz from Ruby Hall Metro Station to Phugewadi Metro station and the Civil Court Metro station to Pune.
