Pune Metro To Launch ‘Coach Restaurant’ Near District Court Station
Pune, March 23, 2026: Commuters in Pune will soon be able to enjoy a unique dining experience inside a metro coach, as MahaMetro prepares to open a “Metro Coach Restaurant” near the District Court Metro Station.
The initiative aims to enhance non-ticket revenue while offering passengers and visitors a novel attraction. An old metro coach, supplied by Titagarh Rail Systems, has been refurbished and converted into a fully air-conditioned restaurant with modern amenities.
The restaurant has been set up परिसर near the Family Court area close to the station and is expected to open to the public soon after completion of formalities. Officials said the project is designed to attract daily commuters as well as tourists using key metro routes such as Vanaz–Ramwadi and Pimpri Chinchwad–Swargate.
According to metro authorities, the initiative could generate an estimated monthly revenue of around ₹1.45 lakh. The facility will offer quality food at affordable prices once it becomes operational.
Officials added that the project also promotes sustainable reuse by transforming an old coach into a functional commercial space, while improving passenger experience beyond transportation services.
