The ‘Millet (Nutritious Cereal) Festival-2024’ organized by the Maharashtra State Krishi Panan Mandal will be inaugurated on January 17 by Maharashtra Minority Development Minister Abdul Sattar. The festival has been organized from January 17 to 21 at Ganesh Kala Krida Manch, Swargate.

As per information, various festivals are organized every year by Krishi Panan Mandal under the concept of ‘Utpadak te Grahak Thet Vikri’ (Producer to Consumer Direct Selling). The aim behind this is to reduce the number of middlemen in the sales system so that farmers get fair market prices and good quality produce.

Cereal farmers from different parts of the state, self-help groups working in cereal processing, cooperative societies, farmer-producing companies, start-up companies etc will participate in this festival. About 50 stalls will be made available to them.

Here, the consumers will be able to see & purchase authentic grains like Jowar, Bajra, Nachani (Ragi), Bhagar, Rala, Sama, Kodra and products made from the grains like Jowar Rava, Bajra Lahya, Ragi Biscuits, Jowar Idli-Mix, Ragi Dosa Mix etc directly from the manufacturers.

Along with this, the festival will have guided lectures by renowned experts on millet products, value-added processing products, health importance, buyer-seller meetings etc.

Sanjay Kadam, Executive Director of Krishi Panan Mandal, appealed to consumers in Pune to visit the Millet Festival in large numbers.
