Pimpri : The Chairman of the Road Safety Committee, Maval MP Srirang Barne, has called for urgent measures to be taken at ‘black spot’ locations on the Pune-Mumbai Expressway to prevent accidents. Speaking at a recent Raigad District Road Safety Committee meeting, Barne instructed the administration to install direction display boards and repair broken pavements.

The meeting was attended by several officials, including MP Sunil Tatkare, MLA Mahendra Dalvi, Aniket Tatkare, Collector Yogesh Mhse, Raigad Superintendent of Police Somnath Gharge, and several other transportation and engineering officials.

Accidents have been occurring continuously on the Pune-Mumbai Expressway, and people are being victimized. Barne urged officials to take measures to prevent accidents on the highway, including penalizing trucks carrying heavy transport that cut lanes. He also called for an increase in staff in the ghat and for immediate action to be taken at ‘black spot’ locations.

Barne chairs the Raigad district’s road safety committee, which meets every six months to review road problems and accident-prone areas. His call for action comes amid a growing concern over road safety in the region, and officials are expected to take swift action to implement the measures he has proposed.
