Pune: Mumbai Solapur Vande Bharat Will Now Halt At Daund Station: MP Supriya Sule
Pune, October 28, 2025: The Mumbai–Solapur Vande Bharat Express will now halt at Daund station, a major relief for commuters along the busy Pune–Solapur route.
The decision comes after persistent follow-up by Pune MP Supriya Sule, who had been pursuing the demand with the Ministry of Railways since the train’s launch on February 10, 2023.
The Railway Department has issued an official notification confirming the new stop at Daund. MP Sule expressed gratitude to Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, and local citizens and media for their support in making this happen.
While welcoming the decision, Sule also urged the Railway Ministry to restore the halts of other trains discontinued during the COVID-19 pandemic at Daund, Bhigwan, and Boribyal stations. She emphasised that despite four years passing, many of these stops remain suspended and should be reinstated for public convenience.
Daund, a key railway junction connecting northern and southern India, handles thousands of passengers daily. Recognising its importance, Sule consistently highlighted the need for the Vande Bharat Express halt at the station.
Announcing the development on social media, Sule described it as a “moment of happiness” for Daund residents, calling the decision a significant step toward improved connectivity in the Pune region.
