The Pune Municipal Corporation says that an investigation by the senior officials of the Pune Municipal Corporation has found that some of the registered street vendors on the roads of Pune city are selling their certificates to other street vendors/citizens through unauthorized financial transactions.

As per further information from the PMC, accordingly, the street vendors & citizens are informed by the Pune Municipal Corporation that as per the provisions of the Central Government’s “Street Vendors Act, 2014”, the “hawker license” issued to any street vendor registered with the Pune Municipal Corporation is not valid for selling to other street vendors or citizens in any way or carrying out unauthorized business.

Pune Municipal Corporation will not be responsible if a registered street vendor deals with other persons to sell the license through such illegal means. No one can do business based on the street vendor’s license obtained by such illegal means.

The license of the registered street vendor, who sells his/her license to other persons, will be cancelled permanently and the said vendor’s name will be blacklisted by the municipal administration.

The PMC is appealing to the concerned citizens and registered vendors to take serious note of this.
