Pune: Nasarpur Minor Rape-Murder Case Trial To Begin In Fast-Track Court From May 21
Pune, May 20, 2026: The trial of the rape and murder case of minor girl from Nasarpur Village in Pune district is set to begin on May 21 before a specially designated court. Considering the seriousness and sensitivity of the case , the authorities have decided to conduct day-to-day hearings.
The incident had been reported under the Rajgad Police Station limits in Bhor taluka, had sparked protests and public anger demanding swift justice for the victim. Following the outrage, the Maharashtra government directed officials to ensure speedy investigation and prosecution in the matter.
Officials said the court proceedings will be conducted in-camera to protect the identity and privacy of the victim’s family members. The accused, identified as Bhimrao Kamble (65), will be produced before the court under tight security during every hearing.
Police completed the investigation within 14 days and submitted a detailed chargesheet running over 1,100 pages before the court. According to investigators, the chargesheet includes forensic laboratory reports, CCTV footage, medical records, autopsy findings, witness statements and technical evidence collected during the investigation.
Authorities stated that modern technology and digital analysis were extensively used to strengthen the evidence linked to the case. Officials believe the fast-track proceedings will help ensure quicker disposal of the matter and timely justice for the victim’s family.
Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis had earlier instructed authorities to expedite the trial process. Special Public Prosecutor Ajay Misar stated that the objective is to complete the trial swiftly while ensuring a strong prosecution based on scientific and documentary evidence.
The case continues to remain highly sensitive, with citizens and social organisations closely monitoring the legal proceedings.
