Pune: NDA’s Super Dimona Aircraft takes off to Air Force Academy to celebrate 75 years of Forging Joint Military Leadership

The sun at National Defence Academy rose along with two Super Dimona aircrafts getting airborne from Air Force Training Team (AFTT) at National Defence Academy. Commemorating 75 glorious years of crafting Military Leaders of Indian Armed Forces, the National Defence Academy as part of the theme ‘Forging Joint Military Leadership’ started off with a cross country flight to Air Force Academy and back on 03 May 2023.

The formation has been flagged off by Maj Gen Sanjeev Dogra, Deputy Commandant & Chief Instructor of NDA. The ferry has begun on 03 May 2023 morning from NDA to Solapur wherein, after landing, the cadets and instructors of NDA shall be interacting with NCC cadets at Solapur.  Thereafter, the formation shall proceed to Air Force Station Bidar which undertakes Advanced Training of Fighter Pilots of Indian Air Force. On 04 May 2023 the cadets alongwith instructors of NDA shall fly to Air Force Academy at Dundigal, Hyderabad and will interact with cadets of AFA. The flight shall mark its completion on landing back at NDA on 05 May 2023 showcasing the Tri-Services values and ethos of this great institution.

A total of 6 cadets and 2 instructors will the super dimona aircraft and cover a total distance of approx. 1400 Km. These cadets get their ab-initio flying training at Air Force Training Team at NDA wherein they are groomed to become the future combat aviators of Indian Air Force.
