Ness Wadia College of Commerce in Pune is on the verge of gaining autonomy from the University Grants Commission (UGC), bringing the tally of autonomous colleges under the Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) to 50. The college, part of the Modern Education Society, submitted its autonomy application to the SPPU a few months ago.

With autonomy expected to be approved imminently, the college aims to offer innovative and career-focused courses, catering to the evolving needs of students. The move is anticipated to enhance the educational experience for students, providing them with diverse learning opportunities.

Renowned for its experienced faculty and unique teaching methods, Ness Wadia College of Commerce has established itself as a leading institution in the education sector. Once autonomy is granted, the college plans to introduce a range of new courses in the upcoming academic years.

This development follows a trend among prominent colleges in Pune, including Fergusson College, Modern College Shivajinagar, Ganesh Khind Modern College, S P College, and Garware College, all of which have already secured autonomy under the SPPU.

The impending autonomy of Ness Wadia College of Commerce signifies a significant milestone in the institution’s journey towards academic excellence and student-centered learning.
