Pune News: 1340 cusecs of water released from Nira Deoghar Dam

Pune: As a result of increased rainfall in the catchment area, the Nira Deoghar dam in Pune taluka was 100 per cent full on Saturday night. According to officials, 1,340 cusecs of water was discharged from the dam including 750 cusecs from the power plant at the dam and 590 cusecs from dam storage.
As per the information provided, the irrigation department has informed that the discharge may change more or less depending on the intensity of the rainfall. However, villages along the Nira River have been put on alert due to the release of water from the dam. They have requested the citizens to not venture into the river basin, and if there are materials or animals left in the riverbed, they should be moved immediately.
