Pune News : 20th edition of Pune Book Fair begins from March 9Â
Pune, traditionally called the Oxford of the East, has always boasted a diverse academic environment amongst the scholastic circles of the country. It is only justified that the city also hosts the largest book fair in Western India.
Launched in the year 2000, the Pune Book Fair is now kicking off its twentieth year this month at Creaticity Mall, Yerwada. Lined up from the 9 to 12 March, the event is a must-go for bookworms of all age groups and interests. This year, the Fair has made greater efforts to inculcate globalization in its readership. Through this edition, it plans on introducing a larger variety of genres than ever seen before.
By partnering up with Crossword Bookstores, the Fair is determined to cater for the needs of young readers of all niches. Educational books that serve the multifaceted purposes and needs of youngsters these days have been dedicated to a special separate section. The event has also tied up with Goyal Publishers to present a large number of foreign language books for the readers to gain exposure to new aspects of the global world.
The inaugural ceremony will take place on March 9, at 11 am in the hands of Divisional Commissioner Saurabh Rao. On the third day of the Fair, an authors’ meet and greet session will transpire in the morning for English writers and in the evening for Marathi writers.
On the last day, a Kavi Sammelan will be hosted featuring numerous eminent poets of our times. Readers, writers and everyone is eagerly invited to these forums, but registrations are required in view of limited seats.
