Pune News: 46 Year Old Wagholi Resident Duped Of Rs 49 Lakh In Online Share Trading Scam 

Pune: A 46-year-old resident of Wagholi has fallen victim to an online share trading scam, losing a total of Rs 49 lakh. According to the police, the victim was contacted by a scamster who gained the investor’s trust over time and convinced him to transfer money for share trading investments.

Between April 6, 2024, and June 4, 2024, the scamster manipulated the victim into transferring funds across multiple bank accounts, promising high returns and even assuring to return the initial investment. However, after several months, neither the returns nor the principal amount was credited back to the complainant’s account.

Realizing the fraud, the victim approached the Lonikand police station and lodged a formal complaint. Police are now investigating the case and tracking the bank accounts involved in the transactions.

The case highlights the growing risks of online investment scams and serves as a warning for the public to exercise caution when engaging in such financial activities.
