Maharashtra Police Launch Helpline To Combat Rising Violence Against Women
In response to the increasing cases of violence against women and girls across the country, Maharashtra has also seen a disturbing rise in such incidents. To tackle this issue and provide immediate assistance to women in distress, the Maharashtra Police has launched a dedicated helpline.
The initiative was directed by the state’s Special Inspector General of the Women and Child Crime Prevention Department. The decision follows a recent case of assault on minor girls in Badlapur, highlighting the urgent need for a support system to protect women and girls from abuse.
To ensure timely police intervention in emergencies, women can now reach out for help by contacting the following numbers: 8976004111, 8850200600, or 022-45161635.
This helpline aims to offer immediate assistance to women in danger, helping to reduce the growing number of crimes against women in the state.
