Pune News : 59 illegal gas cylinders seized in Alandi by Pimpri Chinchwad PoliceĀ
The anti-extortion squad of Pimpri Chinchwad Police Commissionerate has seized as many as 59 illegal gas cylinders during a raid in Alandi.
As per further information from a press release of Pimpri Chinchwad Police, Commissioner of Pimpri Chinchwad Police Vinay Kumar Choubey had instructed to take strict action on illegal businesses within the limits of Pimpri Chinchwad Police Commissionerate.
Accordingly, while Arvind Pawar, senior police inspector of the anti-extortion squad of the crime branch, assistant police inspector Uddhav Khade and other officers were investigating the illegal businesses, police constable Pradeep Godambe received information that gas was being illegally refilled from a sealed gas cylinder into a small empty 4 kg gas cylinder & such cylinders were getting sold in Alandi area.
After rreceivingthe information, the anti-extortion squad officers conducted a 2-hour search ooperationin the area and raided the place from where illegal gas refilling & selling was going on. In the raid, the accused, identified as Sandeep Narsingh Landge was caught. Goods worth Rs 62,800, in which 59 gas cylinders were there, were seized.
The Alandi Police Station has registered a case against Sandeep Landge under Sections 420, 285, 286 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the accused has been taken into the custody of Alandi Police Station for further proceedings & investigation.
The said action was taken under the guidance of Vinay Kumar Choubey, Commissioner of Police, Pimpri Chinchwad, Dr Sanjay Shinde, Joint Commissioner of Police, Pimpri Chinchwad, Vasant Pardeshi, Additional Commissioner of Police, Pimpri Chinchwad, Swapna Gore, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Crime. The operation was done by Arvind Pawar, Senior Police Inspector, Uddhav Khade, Assistant Police Inspector, anti-extortion squad police officer Pradeep Godambe, Ashish Botke, Kiran Katkar.
