Pune News : Anti-narcotics cell takes action against two foreign nationals from Undri and Kondhwa, seizes drugs worth Rs 13 lakhs

Pune: Two foreign nationals have been arrested within limits of Kondhwa Police station on charges of selling narcotic drugs, following a special campaign launched by the Pune City Police under the guidance of Pune City Police Commissioner Ritesh Kumar and Joint Commissioner of Police Sandeep Karnik. 

The arrests were made by the Anti-Narcotics Squad – 1, Crime Branch, after receiving information from Police Constable Pandurang Pawar. The first suspect, a 52-year-old foreign national, was detained near Astonia Classic Society, Undri on March 21. Police seized items worth ₹5,47,600 which included cocaine worth ₹4,62,600, mobile phone and a two wheeler. The suspect was allegedly selling the drug with the help of a foreign accomplice.

Whereas, the second suspect, a 29-year-old foreign national, was apprehended on March 22 at Perfect Fortune Society, Kondhwa after Police Constable Vishal Shinde received reliable information from an informer. The suspect was allegedly selling the narcotic drug Catha edulis (khat) from his residence in Kondhwa. After raiding his residence, the police found 8.393 kilograms of Catha edulis (khat), narcotics worth ₹5,87,510, cash worth ₹2,70,000, foreign currency, a mobile phone, and an electronic weighing machine. Total items of worth ₹8,73,510 were seized from his possession.

The investigation of both of the arrested accused is being conducted at Kondhwa Police Station. Whereas, the accused has been charged under section 8 (c), 21 (b), 29 of the NDPS Act.
