Pune News : Army medical staffer assaulted and robbed on her way home

Pune: In a shocking incident, a 29-year-old Army medical staffer fell victim to molestation and robbery on Monday night while heading home after completing her duty. The perpetrators, two unidentified individuals on a motorcycle, targeted her on Right Flank Road near Command Hospital in Wanowrie around 12:15 am.

According to the police report, the medical staffer had opted to walk home due to an unavailability of auto rickshaw and taxi cab. The assailants, riding a two-wheeler, approached her, and when she rebuffed their attempts to engage, they allegedly subjected her to molestation, physical assault, and forcefully snatched her mobile phone valued at Rs 3,000 before making a swift getaway.

Santosh Gaikwad, Sub-Inspector at Wanowrie police station, stated, “An Army medical staffer was molested and robbed when she was on her way after finishing her duty. As per complaint filed by the victim, we have registered a case against two unidentified individuals and investigation is going on.ā€™ā€™

According to Gaikwad, an FIR regarding the same has been registered at Wanowrie police station under robbery, outrage of modesty and sexual harresment charges and a probe has been initiated to arrest the accused.
