PMC workers on-site attempted repairs after a pipeline burst on Ganeshkhind Road, disrupting local water supply.

Residents of Yeshwant Nagar on Ganeshkhind Road faced yet another day of disrupted water supply after a drinking water pipeline burst in front of plot no. 4. The incident occurred when a JCB machine, engaged in roadwork, accidentally damaged the pipeline, leading to significant water spillage onto the street.

The video footage sent by a resident shows water gushing out onto the road, creating a chaotic scene. This is not the first time the pipeline has suffered damage, and the repeated incidents have raised concerns about the ongoing road work activities and their management.

Residents are urged to use water judiciously while the repairs are being carried out and to report any water-related issues directly to the PMC’s helpline. The corporation has also advised commuters to avoid the affected section of Ganeshkhind Road to prevent traffic disruptions during the repair works.

With repeated pipeline bursts, the need for a more robust solution to prevent future incidents has become apparent. PMC is considering several measures, including enhanced supervision of construction activities near critical infrastructure, to mitigate the risk of such occurrences in the future.
