Pune: Guardian Minister for Pune district Chandrakant Patil directed that the Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited (PMPML) administration should ensure that the transport firm should provide uninterrupted service to the commuters. This decision came after a sudden strike called by four contractors of PMPML a few days ago, which affected the daily lives of students, employees, and other passengers.

The meeting, held at the residence of Guardian Minister Patil, was attended by several officials, including MLA Siddharth Shirole, PMPML Commissioner Om Prakash Bakoria, Pune Municipal Commissioner Dr. Vikram Kumar, Commissioner of Pimpri-Chinchwad Shekhar Singh, Commissioner of PMRDA Rahul Ranjan Mahiwal, and the main contractor of PMPML. The meeting aimed to discuss the issues related to the city bus service and ensure that such strikes do not occur in the future.

Pune, being the fastest growing city in the country and the most preferred city to live in, has a significant dependence on the public transport system provided by PMPML. Hence, it was crucial to address the concerns related to the strike and ensure that such incidents do not occur in the future.

During the meeting, Guardian Minister Patil instructed the PMPML administration to ensure that the payment for the last three months is made to the contractors by the end of March. Furthermore, he directed that the payments for February and March should be made by April 15. In addition, he stressed the importance of making payments regularly every month to prevent any disruptions in the future.

The contractors of PMPML expressed their satisfaction with the decisions taken during the meeting. However, it was emphasized that all concerned parties should show sensitivity and make necessary planning to ensure that the bus service remains uninterrupted and smooth, without causing any inconvenience to the passengers.

The meeting also discussed the need to provide good service to the passengers and ensure that necessary measures are taken in this regard. With the implementation of these decisions, it is expected that the public transport system in Pune will continue to improve and provide a hassle-free experience for the passengers.
