Pune, July 14, 2025 – Persistent noise pollution from construction at the Gera Developments site in Hinjawadi Phase 3 is leaving residents of Sangria and Megapolis battling severe health issues and mental distress.
Despite repeated appeals, authorities have failed to bring any meaningful relief, pushing the community to the brink of frustration.
Residents report dangerously high noise levels, particularly during early morning hours, causing sleep disturbances, headaches, stress, and anxiety among families, including senior citizens and children. “We are being forced to live in an environment that is no longer healthy or peaceful. The constant hammering and machinery noise is impacting our mental well-being every single day,” said a resident of Sangria, Megapolis.
Following complaints from the residents, the Maharashtra Pollution Control Board (MPCB) revealed that the Environmental Clearance (EC) and Consent to Establish (CTE) for the project had been issued under Pegasus Properties Pvt. Ltd. The MPCB has issued a notice to Pegasus Properties, but residents claim that the situation on the ground remains unchanged.
“Authorities need to act decisively before this turns into a serious public health crisis. The noise levels are beyond tolerable limits and residents are paying the price with their health,” he added in his appeal.
The community is now urging urgent intervention from civic bodies and stricter enforcement of noise regulations to safeguard their right to a peaceful and healthy living environment.
