Pune News : Dry fruit store in Market Yard catches fire, no injuries reported

A shop spread across 3,000 square feet in Pune’s Market yard area named Agarwal dry fruits, shop number 490, located near Gate number 5’s store room and surrounding premises caught fire on March 27 at 10.03 AM. 

The fire brigade personnel from Gangadham Fire station reached the spot with one fire tender after it was informed about the incident. But since the fire was huge, one more fire tender and two water tankers were called in to douse the fire. Water was sprayed through all four sides of the shop along with two jawans who wore BA sets entered through the smoke and ensured that there were no workers caught inside the shop. While the water was sprinkled the firemen climbed above the shop through the ladder and with the help of a cutter tore the tin sheets and sprayed water with high speed. The fire was controlled by 10.20 AM and work for cooling began. The fire incident was attended by three fire tenders, two tankers, 15 firemen and station duty officer Pradeep Khedekar, Sunil Naiknavare. There were no reports of injury to anyone in the incident.
