Pune News : Ex MLA Mahadev Babar Raises Issues Concerning Kondhwa Residents

On August 3rd, a significant gathering was orchestrated by Mahadev Babar, MLA of Hadapsar Constituency from the Shiv Sena Party in Pune, along with Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) Commissioner Vikram Kumar. The focal point of this assembly revolved around deliberating and devising resolutions for the burgeoning complications plaguing the Kondhwa area, encompassing concerns like road infrastructure, potholes, and traffic predicaments.
Emanating from a letter dispatched by Mahadev Babar, it came to light that portions of the Kondhwa region have been administered by the Pune Municipal Corporation since 1940, with the remaining segments falling under its jurisdiction in 1997. While the development blueprint for the older segment of Kondhwa was unveiled in 1987 and subsequently revised in 2017, the new segment’s developmental strategy received approval in 2015.
The approved map for both sections delineates a network of interconnecting roads. However, rapid urbanization in Kondhwa, coupled with a burgeoning populace, has triggered a scarcity of civic amenities. The consequence of this asymmetry is an unfortunate surge in traffic bottlenecks along existing roads. To alleviate this, it is paramount to embark on prioritized road expansion initiatives that encompass the following areas:
- Expansion of the South-East 20-meter DP road in Kondhwa Khurd, S.No. 9 and 10.
- Enhancement of the 20-meter DP road connecting east and west in Kondhwa Khurd, S.No. 9 and 37.
- Augmentation of the east-west 15-meter road spanning S.No. 37, 32, 33, and 29 in Kondhwa Khurd.
- Widening of the 20-meter DP road in the southeastern part of Kondhwa Khurd, S.No. 37.
- Establishing a 24-meter border road along Kondhwa Khurd and Kondhwa Budruk, encompassing S.No. 34, 35, 37, 38, 17, 19, and 31.
- Expansion of the east-west 15-meter road traversing S.No. 29, 33, and 36 in Kondhwa Khurd.
The meeting saw attendance of former corporator Tanaji Lonkar, Bharat Choudhary , Prasad Babar, President, Aai Pratishthan, Rajendra Babar and many others.
