Pune: The administration officer in the Education Department and her brother have been booked by the Pune Police for cheating people on the pretext of a teacher job.

Hadapsar police have registered a case against Shailaja Ramchandra Darade and her brother Dadasaheb Ramchandra Darade for allegedly taking money from people promising them a job as a teacher. As per the complaint filed by Popat Suryawanshi, who works as a teacher in a school in the Atpadi Sangli district, Dadasaheb took Rs. 12 lakhs and Rs. 15 lakhs from two of his relatives for a teaching job back in 2019.

However, it has been four years since, and they are yet to get the job. On top of that, even after repeated requests, Dadasaheb did not return the money. It has also come to light that Shailaja Darade allegedly duped more than 44 such job aspirants on the pretext of a job.

Senior Police Inspector Arvind Gokule said, “Yes, Popat Suryawanshi approached the Hadapsar police station on Wednesday and filed a complaint against Darade for cheating his relative for Rs 27 lakh over job lure. We have registered an FIR against Darade duo under sections 406, 420, and 34 of the IPC and further inquiry is going on.”
