Pune News : IMD predicts light rainfall during Holi in Pune

Pune: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicted that there would be chances of cloudy weather and chances of rainfall between March 5-8.

The weather department predicted that rainfall may occur around the Holi festival in the isolated pockets of the Western Maharashtra, Marathwada and Vidarbha region.

KS Hosalikar, head of IMD, Pune, said According to latest Mumbai radar observation, satellite observation and Damini lightning products indicate moderate to severe thunderstorms in ghat areas of Pune near Khandala and north Junnar. Drizzle was reported in many areas of Pune today evening.

Officials from the Pune IMD said, the weather department has forecasted Yellow warning at isolated areas of the state.

According to IMD, in Pune light rain is expected between  March 6 and March 8 along with strong wind. During the period, clear sky will become cloudy and chances of rain likely to occur.

IMD also predicted that daily maximum temperature is likely to remain around 35 degree celsius. However, the minimum temperature is likely to remain around 15-16 degree celsius.

Hailstorm was reported in Sakri taluk of Dhule district in Maharashtra today.
