Residents raise concern over noise pollution by software company in Wadgaon Sheri

Pune: On the backdrop of the Holi and Dhuliwandan celebrations, Loni Kand police ask housing societies to take permission for using loudspeakers.

According to police officials from the LoniKand police station, they have asked housing societies to follow sound pollution related guidelines issued by the state government from time to time. Housing societies who wish to celebrate Holi by using loudspeakers have to apply to the police station for the prior permission.

Senior Police Inspector Gajanan Pawar told that, we have experienced that, many residents from the big housing societies approached us and complained that people were playing music on loud speakers. Then we had to intervene. Hence this year they have to take prior permission before playing loud speakers in housing societies.

Gajanan Pawar said many old aged people, people with heart problems facing difficulties as the younger generation running music on loud speakers. Then such people used to call 100 and make complaints.To avoid this, from this year housing societies that are planning to run music on loud speakers need to get prior permission from the police station to avoid further mess.

According to data, as of now Lonikand police station has received three to four applications from various housing societies seeking permission to run music systems on loudspeakers. While granting them permission, police hace told them to strictly follow all noise pollution related norms, declared by the state government from time to time.
