Pune: The Kondhwa police have started issuing notices to agents and house owners to provide all the documents and information of the tenants.

Speaking to Pune Pulse, Santosh Sonawane, Senior Police Inspector, Kondhwa Police Station said, “After the implementation of the rule providing details of the tenants to the police station in Kondhwa, we are raising awareness among the public about this since 2 to 3 days by distributing pamphlets, putting banners at various places and so on. We want house owners & real estate agents to follow the rules & submit the relevant documents of tenants to Kondhwa police.”

The real estate agents had a meeting at Kondhwa Police Station. “

A sample form was given to them in which they can fill information about the tenant along with Aadhaar card, PAN card, driving license, passport photocopy and tenancy agreement etc and submit it at the police station for verification. Additionally, the banners and pamphlets have been put up in prominent places which provides details about the tenant verification process.

Additionally, Sonawane has urged all house owners & agents to provide documents of all the tenants & has informed that allowing a tenant to live without police verification will be at the risk of house owner and agents. Also, if the documents aren’t submitted, strict action would be taken against them under Section 188 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
