Pune News : Mobile tower installed on residential building catches fire in Vishrantwadi

A mobile tower installed on a residential building in Kasturba Housing society, Vijay Shanti Heights in Vishrantwadi caught fire today afternoon at 3.30 PM. Fire tenders from Yerwada and Dhanori fire station rushed to douse fire at the spot. 

The mobile tower and the control room on the same terrace had caught fire. Fire personnel from Pune Fire Brigade evacuated the residents from the building. The rescue operation had various difficulties since there was lot of unused material dumped in the terrace lobby and staircase. The fire brigade personnel took the hose pipe from fifth floor and doused fire. 

The fire was brought in control by fire personnel Sopan Pawar, Raghunath Bhoir, Shankar Gaikwad, Bhausaheb Chormale, Ankush Palwe, Rohidas Tingre, Vitthal Adhari, Akash Rathod, Suraj Niwalkar, Amol Randive.  

Commendable Achievement by Pune Fire Brigade personnel 

The fire was first seen by a contractor, a driver, Shahnawaz Sayyed whom was offering prayers when he saw the fire. He also removed a gas cylinder from a house and averted a major mishap.
