Pune News : MSEDCL workers endure heavy rain to restore power

In Pune, gusty winds and rainfall led to tree felling incidents at many places in Pune causing disruption in power supply. The rainfall as well as strong winds recorded in the evening led to huge trees also felling on the hoardings damaging the structures and disrupting power supply. The Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) restored power supply within half an hour at many places.

Strong winds and heavy downpour was experienced in Sinhagad road, Hingane, Narhe, Dhayari, Vadgaon, Dattawadi, Janata Vasahat, Ganesh mala areas keeping power supply off for a long duration. Power supply was restored by 8 PM, while huge trees fell in Manikbaug where the efforts are still on to restore the supply. Power supply was also disrupted in Mahavitaran’s Alankar sub division where a tree fell on the power line which disrupted the supply for a long time which affected the areas like Council Hal, Collector office, Central Building. But supply was restored in 40 minutes.

MSEDCL also restored supply in Kondhwa, Pisoli, Khadi Machine chowk, Ravivar Peth, Budhwarpeth and Katraj areas. MSEDCL engineers, line men, executive engineers have been tirelessly working to restore electricity supply in many areas.
