The Bremen Chowk Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation bus stop, located in the bustling area of Aundh, has been facing a severe electricity outage for months, leaving passengers and lady conductors working in the evenings without lights. This persistent issue has raised concerns about the lack of basic amenities for public transportation users in a country that claims to be progressing rapidly.

The bus stop, which serves as a crucial transportation hub for commuters in Aundh and the surrounding areas, has been grappling with power outages for an extended period, making it inconvenient and unsafe for both passengers and the lady conductors who work there until 10.00 pm. The absence of proper lighting at the bus stop poses risks of accidents, thefts, and other untoward incidents.

Local residents and frequent travelers who rely on the MSRTC bus stop at Bremen Chowk have expressed their dismay at the prolonged electricity outage. Many passengers, particularly women who commute during the evening hours, feel unsafe due to the lack of adequate lighting at the bus stop. The lady conductors who work at the bus stop have been bravely managing their duties in difficult conditions, relying on flashlights and other makeshift arrangements to carry out their responsibilities.

The issue falls under the purview of the Aundh Ward Office, and concerned citizens are urging the ward in-charge to look into the matter urgently and take necessary actions to resolve the problem. They are demanding immediate measures to restore electricity to the bus stop and ensure proper lighting for the safety and convenience of passengers and the lady conductors.

As the country aims for progress and development, it is imperative to prioritize basic infrastructure and amenities for public transportation facilities. The persistent electricity outage at the Bremen Chowk MSRTC Bus Stop raises questions about the state of essential services and the need for prompt action to address the issue. Citizens and local authorities hope that the matter will be resolved swiftly to ensure the safety and convenience of all users of the bus stop.

“It’s difficult to perform our duty post 6 PM once it starts getting dark. We are hoping that the authorities take cognisance of the issue and our problems are solved, ” complained Shila Gunde, an employee at the bus stop.
