Pune News: Newborn Girl Found Abandoned in Garbage in Pimple Nilakh
Pimple Nilakh witnessed a shocking and tragic discovery on Wednesday morning when a newborn baby girl was found lifeless inside a plastic bag discarded in a garbage pile. A local resident who noticed the infant immediately informed the police.
Sangvi Police rushed to the location and retrieved the newborn, taking her to a nearby hospital. Doctors confirmed that she had already passed away before reaching the facility.
A police officer from Sangvi Station said, “We discovered a newborn girl wrapped in a plastic bag thrown into the garbage. She was sent to the hospital but was already deceased.” Investigators are now reviewing CCTV footage to identify the individual responsible for this heartless act.
The infant, believed to be only one day old, was first spotted by garbage collectors around 11 AM. They reported the matter to Pimpri-Chinchwad Police’s control room, and officials from Sangvi Police Station reached the scene promptly.
Police Inspector (Crime) Amol Nandekar stated, “We received information around 11:30 AM regarding a baby lying in trash near a petrol pump in Pimple Nilakh. Upon inspection, we found a one-day-old female infant and immediately transported her to the hospital, where doctors confirmed she had already passed away.”
Authorities confirmed that the person who abandoned the newborn remains unidentified. A case has been registered at Sangvi Police Station under charges of abandoning a child, and investigations are ongoing. Police suspect the person responsible may not be a local resident. CCTV footage and other evidence are being carefully analyzed to trace the culprit behind this tragic incident.
